Here is just a little background info on me.
I was born at Beale Air Force Base in California on November 17, 1970. My parents moved back to Texas after a three year stint in the Air Force. We lived in Dallas, Texas for a little while then moved to Carrollton, Texas, the place I like to call home. I went to Blanton & McCoy Elementary, DeWitt Perry Junior High, and Newman Smith High School.
I then attended Texas Tech University and this is where I met my wife Jenn. In a very short six years I graduated with a degree in Design Communications and a minor in Packaging. Two weeks after I graduated from Texas Tech University I got my first job at The Ad Place in Oak Cliff just across the Trinity River from downtown Dallas. I worked at The Ad Place for about 2 1/2 years on car ads, logos, car ads, billboards, car ads, brochures, car ads, you get the idea right? The Ad Place is a multi-purpose ad agency. When it came time to move on I took a job at JCPenney Life Insurance Company in the Marketing Communications Department. Sometime in this timeframe I went and got married and bought a house in Frsico, Texas. After a few years JCPenney sold JCPenney Direct Marketing Services (they changed their name a few times) I work for AEGON (a Dutch Insurance Company). Our division is callled AEGON Direct Marketing Services (AEGON DMS). Since January 2000, I have worked on ecommerce websites for membership services and life insuance.
My freelance started, if you would give me a little latitude, in high school. My friend, Jay Spalding and I threw some parties in high school (real BIG parties). Jay and I designed the flyers and marketed the parties. There were a few thousand people at the last couple of parties, so it was no small feat. At the time we were just trying to be cool. But little did we kno we were born to Market. *NOTE: If anyone has a copy of the flyers I would really appreciate it if you could send it to me* Jay has grown on to own a very successful company US JESCO. As his company grew to very large proportions I finished college. I started working on packaging for him and ended up being his all-out creative team. After a few years of this I decided to start my own company. In early March 2001 I opened the doors to LTrain Designs. Actually it is being run out of my house so the doors were open for years. Well anyways, I picked up a lot of cool clients and did some great websites, logos, and packaging. Go on over to LTrain Designs to see some work.
Lately I have been spending alot of time with my daughter Cassidy, who was born on March 24, 2001 (around the same time I started my company). Even though I just turned thirty a couple of years ago, most of my spare time outside of that is spent playing hockey, watching movies, listening to music, making music, watching football, riding around in my jeep in the hot summer with my dog, and winning fantasy football with my championship fantasy football team, the San Francisco Funky Monkeys.
I also like to apear more famous than I am. A good friend and well-respected Wine Connoisseur Eric Baum once told me, "LTrain is a legend in his own mind." I have been in several national publications, including comics, compact discs, major newspapers, Toyota television commercials, online, and in stands at games on national television. I entered the NBA and NHL draft in 1999, but no-one drafted me (I thought the Minnesota Timberwolves were going to take a chance). The video section may get launched at a later date.
